Hockey India (HI) on Monday counseled Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award

Hockey India (HI) on Monday counseled veteran Indian hockey player Sardar Singh for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award - India's highest sporting honour




Sardar Singh, the previous captain of the national squad, is known for his on-field ability and fitness. He was enclosed within the FIH All Star Team in 2010 and 2011. the previous captain of the national facet debuted for India within the junior team against Poland in 2003-04. once this tour, Sardar Singh created his place within the senior facet in 2006, wherever he debuted against Pakistan.

Sardar Singh, who honored the Arjuna Award in 2012 and Padma Shri in 2015, was the youngest player to skipper the Indian team at 2008 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.

at the same time, SV Sunil, Dharamvir Singh and Deepika Thakur are counseled for the Arjuna Award. RP Singh and Sumrai Tete are counseled for the Dhyan Chand Award.

Coaches Sandeep Sangwan and Romesh Pathania are counseled for the Dronacharya Award.
Following the recommendations, a committee, shaped by the Sports Ministry, can take the ultimate decision concerning the recommendations created by several sports federations.
